Business Benefits

If you are using Products with a 'shelf life' (e.g., expiry date), it may be necessary to specify the number of days of shelf life that remains on a Lot being allocated. This program allows you to do this.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see CR - Client Related.

Usage

Use this job to specify, at the Customer (Consignee) level, the number of days of shelf life that remains on a Lot being allocated.

For example, the same Client may ship a Product to store ABC100 and store ABC101; however, store ABC101 requires that there be at least 30 days of shelf life remaining, whereas store ABC100 may be satisfied with 45 days of shelf life.

Preconditions

Client codes must have been set up in program CR.06 [Client Names and Addresses].

Customers must be created in program CR.26 [Customer (Ship-To) Addresses].

Products must have a Lot Set that includes the Lot Component *LED* (this is a predefined Lot Component) and the stock rotation rules for this Lot Set must have *LED* as the primary sequence.

Lot Components are defined in program WP.43 [Global Lot Components].

Lot Sets are defined in program WP.44 [Lotting Data Sets].

Lot Sets are attached to Products in program WP.46 [Lotting Assignments].

Subsequent Actions

Each Lot will have an expiry date. Each Order will have a requested arrival date. When the computer allocates Lots in programs ...

OE.01 [Enter Orders (Shipping)] or OE.91 [Batch Commit Orders]

... and if the calculation (expiry date minus the arrival date) is less than the minimum shelf life, it will reject the Lot and select the next Lot. It will perform the test again until an acceptable Lot is found. If no acceptable Lots are found, it will act as though there was no stock available (ie. short ship the Order, etc.).
