Business Benefits

In an ideal business, all transactions would be entered and processed correctly. In real life, of course, mistakes are made or other adjustments have to be made to record unusual situations (e.g., returns, breakage, theft, etc.).

You may wish to track some of these adjustments so that you have a better idea of the extent of each. Others may not occur often enough to be tracked separately, and may be combined into a Miscellaneous category.

This program allows you to define as many of these different Adjustment categories as you require. When you post an Adjustment, you can assign the appropriate code so that it will be grouped accordingly in your Adjustment reports.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see CR - Client Related.

Usage

Use this job to maintain a file of Inventory Adjustment codes indicating the reasons for a particular transaction or occurrence.

These codes are used in the Order Analysis and Adjustments (OR) system to indicate the reason for making an Adjustment.

They are also used to sequence Reports of Over/ Short/Damaged Goods.

Preconditions

Determine the nature of your adjustments, so that you can decide how many categories you need.

Subsequent Actions

These codes are used in Field 10 (Adjustment Code) of program OR.20 [Lots - Maintain / Adjust] to indicate the reason for making an Adjustment

They are also used in ...

Field 7 (Adjustment Code) of program OR.21 [Holds - Adjustments]
