Business Benefits

Some Companies have standard Ship-To addresses (different from Sold-To addresses) which are used frequently enough to justify recording them in a Ship-To Address file. This eliminates the typing of the Ship-To Customer address on every document. This program allows you to set up these Ship-To addresses.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see CR - Client Related.

Usage

Use this job to create and maintain standard Customer points (Sold-To and/or Ship-To addresses) which are used frequently enough to justify their being recorded in an Address file.

The Ship-To code is used in Field 3 (Received From) of program RE.11 [In-Transit Receipts] and Field 7 (Received From) of program RE.21 [Receipts] and RE.31 [Receipt Invoices] as the "Received From" code.

Preconditions

The length of the Ship-To code is defined in Field 22 (Length of Client Code) of program WP.99 [System Profile - 1].

Client codes must have been defined in program CR.06 [Client Names and Addresses].

Destination codes must have been set up in program Z0 NA.04 [Destination Codes].

Customer Type codes are set up in program CR.27 [Customer Types].

Carrier codes are defined in program CR.38 [Carriers].

Other codes that must be set up:

CP.06 [Service Level],
CP.05 [Freight Type],
CP.03 [Control Method],
CR.37 [Routing Codes], and
CR.16 [Messages, Warnings, & Hazards].

Subsequent Actions

These codes will be removed automatically from the system in program DS.20 [Inventory Diagnostics] if they have not been used within the time period specified in Field 2 (Days to Keep Customer Codes) of program WP.93 [Management Reporting Profiles].
