Business Benefits
The methodical process of counting Stock must be supported with a document that allows the Stock- Taker to record the count.
This program is where you would assign pre- numbered ranges of Tickets or let you assign your own range of numbers. These Tickets do not show Product/Lot/etc. This information must be entered by the Counter.
When the Count is finished, the Counts will be entered in program PI.30 [Count - Enter], and all the handwritten information on the Tickets must be entered for each Ticket number.
Note: For related documentation and workflows, see PI - Physical Inventory. For further information on how inventory is handled under ViewPoint Logistics, see Physical Inventory Overview.
Usage
Use this job to print Inventory Tags for a Physical Inventory count.
These Tags will then be completed by the people checking the Stock and submitted for comparison with the computer figures.
Each range of Tickets must have a different numbered range. No overlapping of ranges is allowed, to ensure an accurate count and to avoid possible mix-ups later on.
Preconditions
Decide on the sequence in which the Tags are to be printed, so that they can be distributed accordingly to the Stock-Taking staff.
Subsequent Actions
Once the Physical Count has been completed and the information entered on the Stock-Taking Tags, you can begin the process of matching this Count with the computer figures.
Any new Lots that are found during the physical count are recorded on an External/blank Ticket, which must then be entered into program PI.30 [Count - Enter].
