Business Benefits
Though it does not happen often, it may be necessary to cancel a Physical Inventory operation in mid-stream (or shortly after it is started). This program allows you to mark a Physical Count so that it will be aborted (in program PI.78 [Purge Completed/Aborted Counts]).
Note: For related documentation and workflows, see PI - Physical Inventory. For further information on how inventory is handled under ViewPoint Logistics, see Physical Inventory Overview.
Usage
Use this job to mark for abortion a Physical Count that has not been updated yet in program PI.72 [Count - Update].
It is most often used in the case of a test Count or if a mistake was made in the parameters in program PI.20 [Count - Maintain/Generate].
Preconditions
The Count code must have been set up and generated in program PI.20 [Count - Maintain/Generate].
Subsequent Actions
Once the Count has been marked, the status will change to "aborted". The actual process of purging the Count is done in program PI.78 [Purge Completed/Aborted Counts].
Once the Count is aborted, all the data attached to the Count will be purged so that no activity will show in the PI system.
