WP.44: Lotting Data Sets
Table of Contents
Note that you can click the button (or press F5) to invoke field help at any time from within the job panel itself.
Business Benefits
For entry and/or reporting purposes, perhaps you wish to subdivide your Lot code into components. For example, the first part may be a Receipt date, the second part a Manufacturer's code, the third part a distinguishing characteristic such as model, etc. This program allows you to define which of these components constitute a Lot 'set' for use in later data entry and reporting.
Note: For related documentation and workflows, see WP - Warehouse Profile.
Usage
Use this job to define the Lot components that constitute a Lot 'set'.
Note: Once a Lot Set is set up and Products are attached, you cannot change or delete the Lot Set.
Also Note: The number of Components that may be assigned to a Dataset is limited to 10 Components or 90 characters (in the string of Components).
For example, if you need four Components in the Dataset, and each Component is 25 characters in length, the first three will be accepted but the fourth will generate an error message "100 exceeds the maximum of 90".
Preconditions
Lot Components must have been set up in program WP.43 [Global Lot Components].
Subsequent Actions
The Lot 'set' will be used in all the programs that require the Operator to enter a Lot code:
RE.21 [Receipts], RE.31 [Receipt Invoices], etc.
