Managing Extensible Data MyLogistics and Extensible Data

Action grid columns that contain data elements displayed in Italicized Orange indicate that they are extensions to the standard grid data;i.e., client-specific data. These column headings will change depending on the client and the additional information associated with each client.

If you have defined additional information to be included with your data, these data elements will automatically appear as non-standard columns on the action grid. For example you may have attached client-specific data to the Order and/or Receipt Header or about Lots (production run, miscellaneous text, color, etc.).

To learn more about setting up the additional fields for maintaining client-specific data in ViewPoint Logistics, see CR.15: Client-Specific Data.

Extensible data columns appear on the far right of the action grid and are identified by an orange-colored panel button; e.g., .

Managing Extensible Data

From the 3PL perspective, action grids that handle multiple clients will display a unique set of columns for each client that uses extensible data. Some clients require more extensible data than others. However, the more clients you have that use extensible data, the more extensible data columns you will see added to the grid.

Use the ViewPoint Logistics Filter feature to help narrow down the grid to specific clients (and client-specific data).

MyLogistics and Extensible Data

Because MyLogistics is client-specific by nature, clients who access their data via MyLogistics will only be able to see their extensible data and no one else's.
