Business Benefits

On many occasions, you may wish to see whether stock is available for a particular Client, and where it is located in the Warehouse.

This program allows you to print this information. Product Availability includes Unallocated Lots.

An unallocated Lot refers to product requested for order but the specific stock (Lots) has not yet been selected and allocated/reserved.

In order to display matching "Product Available" quantities when printing this report for both Lot details and Product summary formats the system displays "Unallocated Lots" on the Lot Detail report format with negative quantities and weights. Both the Product and Client quantity and weight totals are then reduced by the unallocated lot values.

The system also display the following message in the footer of the report for the Lot Detail format.

"Unallocated quantities are ordered quantities that have not been assigned to valid lots, warehouses, locations, unit id's or conveyances. Total product available quantity has been adjusted to include unallocated quantities".

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see OR - Order Analysis and Adjustments.

Usage

Use this job to print detailed stock availability information for a particular Client, including Holds and Warehouse Locations.

Transactions in process, including:

  • Deferred Orders
  • Orders on Hold
  • Credit Holds
  • Receipts entered but not printed, print as the last line on any reports requesting Lot information.

The options selected are printed at the top of the report.

Preconditions

Stock availability is affected by Future Orders and In-Transits in programs:

OE.01 [Enter Orders (Shipping)]
RE.21 [Receipts]
RE.31 [Receipt Invoices]
OR.20 [Lots - Maintain / Adjust].

Subsequent Actions

Deferred Orders, Orders on Hold, and Credit Holds will appear as a total quantity at the end of Lot detail as transactions in process, reducing the total Available quantity field.

Once you are aware of the stock availability, you may proceed to either fill Orders or take other appropriate action required to make stock available.
