Business Benefits

To assist in the shipment and receiving of stock from warehouse/distribution centers to its final destination (i.e., a customer/consignee) product is
often placed on/in a conveyance (e.g., a wooden pallet) that bears a label containing a barcoded identifier. The ID is typically scanned by the customer to rapidly record the conveyance contents into their inventory.

Prior to shipment the warehouse may wish to validate that an order has been picked and placed on conveyances for shipment. A number of reports are available in this job to help warehouse staff confirm that the conveyances "hold" the correct stock. These documents may also act as "packing slips" for customers that do not have Electronic Data Interchange and/or Radio Frequency capabilities.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see RF - Radio Frequency.

Features

Original Storage Conveyances

This report will retain and display the Original Storage Conveyance from which specific stock (i.e., a Client/Product/Lot) was picked. This data is retained if stock is moved to another Conveyance (after picking), or placed loose in a location (i.e. NOT in/on a Conveyance) or other changes are made in the following jobs that pick, move or select stock for shipment.

RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Pick Order to Conveyance
RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Unallocated Picking
RF.50 [Maintain Shipment Conveyance]
OE.20 [Confirm or Modify Shipments]

Original Storage Conveyances associated with an Order may also be viewed in the OR.40 [Order Information] - Option # 6 = Conveyances

Since this data is tracked it is also possible to include this information in EDI transmissions (e.g. in a 945/856 transaction sets). Contact Maves for more information as EDI mapping is required.

Current Location of Conveyance IDs

The system will also display the current location of the Conveyance IDs to assist warehouse staff in the event that the stock needs to be moved or adjusted (e.g., to another existing/new Conveyance because of height restrictions, customer requests, etc.).

Usage

Select the report format (i.e., level of detail and sorting) required for your warehouse staff or Client's customer. The following report formats are available.

  1. Details of a range of Conveyances by Conveyance
  2. Details of Conveyances for a range of Orders by Conveyance
  3. Summary of Conveyances for a range of Orders by Order
  4. Details of Conveyances for a range of Orders by Order
  5. Details of Conveyances for a range of Orders by Load Sequence.

Pick and Load Sequences. If Format # 5 is selected then the system will display the sequence in which the Conveyances were picked and/or loaded for an Order. The "Pick" sequence refers to the sequence in which Conveyances were either picked to a mobile/temporary location or dropped to a final stage/dock area when an RF user accesses either the RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Pick Order to Conveyance or RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Unallocated Picking options.

The "Load" sequence refers to the sequence in which Conveyances were moved/placed onto a carrier by RF users while accessing the RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Load Verify option.

Note: The Load sequence does NOT indicate HOW Conveyances were stacked once they were placed on the carrier (first row, left side, bottom, etc.).

Preconditions

Prior to requesting this report an Order is created, a picking slip printed and the stock is normally picked and placed in/on a Conveyance.

This is accomplished by performing the following steps.

OE.01 [Enter Orders (Shipping)]
OE.03 [Print Shipping Documents]
RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Pick Order to Conveyance or RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Unallocated Pick
RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Load Verify (Optional)

Report may be generated at ANY time. An order does NOT need to be fully "picked"before this report is run. It is also possible that the selection of stock for shipment is NOT performed with the RF system but is instead done using OE.20 [Confirm or Modify Shipments].

In either scenario a user may request and print the report and still view any/all Shipment Conveyances (which were "built") and Storage Conveyances (i.e. from which stock was "picked").

Subsequent Actions

The following are optional subsequent tasks that may be performed after printing this report.

RF.50 [Maintain Shipment Conveyance]
RF.55 [Shipment ID Report]
OE.03 [Print Shipping Documents] - Bill of Lading
OE.20 [Confirm or Modify Shipments]
