Business Benefits

A number of warehousing services may be performed for a Client during the packing of ordered stock for shipment. In the past this information has been manually recorded by Warehouse staff (e.g., onto a charge sheet) and then attached to an Order by Office staff.

To lessen the costs of over/under billing to the Warehouse and Client, resulting from Human error (e.g., the tasks are not recorded/attached correctly) the system has been enhanced to prompt the Warehouse user to record the specific services and quantities that were provided for Orders that are packed with the Radio Frequency (RF) system.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see RF - Radio Frequency.

Usage

This tasks allows a user to indicate which packing related charges MAY be attached to an Order for specific or ALL Clients.

After an Order is packed the RF system will prompt the user to indicate which services were actually performed and the quantities associated with them so charges may be calculated.

In addition to attaching charges to an order the user may also record the number of cartons shipped and the total order weight for a UPS shipment.

This information is typically required by Carriers that transport and charge for large quantities of Cartons that have variable weights (e.g. UPS).

Preconditions

Define Packing related charges for specific or all Clients with the option CR.22 [Storage, Handling, Other Rates].

Subsequent Actions

Following is a list of subsequent actions that are performed that "lead up to" (and include) the attachment of service charges and information when an Order is packed with the RF system.

OE.01 [Enter Orders (Shipping)] - Note: Lots must be reserved/allocated

OE.03 [Print Shipping Documents] - Note: Locations must be reserved/allocated

RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Pack Order
