Business Benefits
The Radio Frequency hardware is 'intelligent' enough to automatically identify the symbology of the Barcode.
The Maves software allows you to specify what information is encoded on the Barcode, eliminating the need for program changes. For example,
- the Product code may be in positions 17-28,
- the Lot code in 45-55,
- the expiry date in 61-66.
Note: For related documentation and workflows, see RF - Radio Frequency.
Usage
Use this job to define the data elements contained in a Client's Barcode. These definitions are then used by the system when the Radio Frequency unit scans the data from the Barcode, to correctly interpret where the data is to be stored and how it is to be used.
Preconditions
You must obtain the data definitions encoded in the Barcode from your Client.
Subsequent Actions
You should test the Barcode definitions with several samples, to ensure that your Client gave you the right specifications, and you entered them into the system correctly.
This barcode definition may be used in a variety of RF menu options including RF.01 [R.F. Menu] - Single Receiving by Conveyance.
Note: In the above job the system will prompt the user to record the barcode after scanning the Conveyance ID.
