Business Benefits

During Physical Inventory or Cycle Counting your RF counters may be required to scan/record large amounts of data that is predominantly identical.

Example: Client "ABC" stores Product "123" and each Lot contains a lerge number of identified Conveyances (e.g. Wooden Pallets). Rather than scan/enter the same Product and Lot multiple times you may configure the system to default information from the last ticket entry to expedite counting.

Note: This feature is only available for "Blank" or "External" tickets. See the following Job for details: PI.22 [Tags - Generate Blank/External].

Defaults are defined by selecting the "Next" field to display after a specific ticket count is updated. The system will default all the field values (e.g. Product, Lot, etc.) from the previous entry and prompt the user to scan/browse/enter a value for the specified field (e.g., a Conveyance). Any of the defaults values may of course be changed before updating the ticket information.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see RF - Radio Frequency.

Usage

Use this job to display default values for a specific Client/Warehouse to expedite "Blind Counting" for large quantities of homogeneous stock.

Preconditions

Prior to defining counting defaults determine if any of your Clients' have large quantities of similar stock (see Business Benefits for an example) located in one or more Warehouses. Identify the unique data (e.g. a different Lot, Conveyance, etc.) within the similar stock and indicate to the system (see fields 4 and 5) that this is the "next" field to display after the counter updates a ticket.

The following Jobs must be run prior to defining Default Paramaters for Counts.

RF.99 [R.F. System Parameters]

RF.91 [R.F. Operators]

RF.92 [Receiving - Default Parameters]

RF.93 [Unallocated Picking - Set-Ups]

Subsequent Actions

After defining Default Parameters for Counts a Physical Inventory or Cycle Count may be defined using the Job PI.20 [Count - Maintain/Generate].

The default feature is only active for recording counts for "Blank" or "External" tickets. These types of tickets may be created manually in PI.22 [Tags - Generate Blank/External]
