Selecting and Removing Records

Action grids include functionality that allows you to select, rearrange, and/or remove specific records/rows to help you focus only on the data that is most relevant to your work. Removing rows from the grid is also called simple filtering.
Note: When records (rows) are removed from the action grid they do not change the source contents of your database. Select to instantly reverse the effects of previous filtering (via the Settings Table) and repopulate the grid with its original data.
Selecting Rows
Use the following techniques when selecting records from the grid:
Selection | Description |
---|---|
One Row | Click anywhere on the row to be selected. |
Range of Rows | To select a range of rows, highlight the first row, hold down the Shift key, then click on the last row. |
Multiple Rows | To select multiple (but not consecutive) rows hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on various rows in the grid. |
De-Select Rows | To de-select rows that are currently selected (highlighted), hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on the selected rows. unclick deselect |
Selecting All Rows
To select all the records in the grid, open the Actions tab, then click .
Removing Selected Rows
To remove selected records from the grid, highlight the records, open the Actions tab, then click . This will take away the records that were selected.
Keeping Selected Rows
To keep selected records (and remove all others) highlight the records, open the Actions tab, then click . This will retain only those records that were selected.
Rearranging Rows
To rearrange records into a different order, open the Actions tab, then click . This will "unlock" all the rows in the action grid so that they can be re-sequenced via drag and drop techniques (see Selecting Rowsabove).
