Business Benefits

Active Putaway selects the "best" location for a specific product. Location selection is based on a number of preferences assigned to the product.

Preferences include Separation, Popularity, Storage Zones, and Storage Types. Separation allows for the grouping of like product by some criteria; e.g., hazardous, frozen, foodstuffs. Popularity is an indication of how fast a product "turns". Typically the faster movers are placed in locations that are more accessible; e.g., closer to the dock. A Storage Zone is a group of storage locations that have been assigned to some purpose. Finally a Storage Type is the storage configuration offered by the location (bulk, container, rack, silo, etc.).

Each product uses a "Business Rule" to rank the importance of preferences to select a location.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see SL - Stock Locator.

Usage

Use this job to select Client/Products that will utilize Active Putaway.

This is only required if Active Putaway will be used in RF. No setup is required here if only using Verified Passive Putaway (VPP)
