Business Benefits

A global list of Components is primarily required during lookups in which a Client and Product have not been specified (therefore the system does not know which Lotting Set to use). This program allows you to set up these global Lot Components.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see WP - Warehouse Profile.

Usage

Use this job to set up Global Lot Components, for use in Lotting Data Sets.

Preconditions

The following Components are set up automatically by the system during installation:

*LAG* = Aging Date

*LED* = Expiry Date

Note: Stock is considered to EXPIRE ON the Expiry Date. for example, if the Expiry Date is June 15, 2020 then it expires at 12:00:01 a.m. (i.e., one second AFTER midnight) on June 15, 2020. As a result the Lot should NOT be placed On-Order or Shipped on a Order with a Ship Date that is EQUAL or GREATER THAN the Expiry Date.

*LID* = Lot Identification

*LOT* = (Legacy) Lot code

*LRD* = Release Date

This will replace the Action code RD and it will automatically become part of the Stock Rotation default.

*N/A* = Not Applicable (ie. Single Lotted)

This is used to define Lotting during conversion for a single-Lotted Product.

*WHS* = Warehouse Code

This will cause the system to make sure that there is a valid relationship between this Component and a Warehouse code (based on Locations).

*ZAN* = Zone Admission Numbers (For use with FTZ)

*ZST* = Zone Status (for use with FTZ)

This is used for conversion purposes when going from a current system where there is only one Lot definition.

Subsequent Actions

Global Lot Components are used in programs WP.44 [Lotting Data Sets] and WP.46 [Lotting Assignments].
