Business Benefits

In the Logistic industry, Lot Set identification for an existing product is subjected to customer or manufacture requirements which may change from time to time.

Lotting Data Set Assignment are attached in WP.46 [Lotting Assignments]. However, WP.46 only allows change of lotting set assignment when no lot has been created for the product. WP.47[Lot Set Change Definition] allows you to define Lot Set change definition for product(s) which has existing lots and inventory balances in the system.

Usage

WP.47 [Lot Set Change Definition] is used to define Lot Set Change definition for a specific product or all products of a particular client which currently using the same lotting set.

The definition created in WP.47 is to be used with the following jobs to perform a complete Lot Set Change process:

WP.48 [Lot Set Change Pre-check]
WP.49 [Commit Pre-check Report]
WP.50 [Commit Lot Set Change]

Note: Once a Lot Set Change Definiton has been defined, you may not change the definition of the lotting data sets in WP.44 [Lotting Data Sets].

If system has detected a change in the lotting data sets which will affect the Lot Set Change definition. System will automatically cancel the Lot Set Change definition.

Preconditions

Client codes must have been set up in program CR.06 [Client Names and Addresses] and Product codes in program CR.62 [Client's Inventory Products].

Current Product Lotting Set must be attached in program WP.46 [Lotting Assignments] Interchange To Lot Datasets must be defined in program WP.44 [Lotting Data Sets].

Subsequent Actions

After the lot set change definition is created, in WP.47, the definition will have one of the following status:

Define Mapping. Use the MAP option in WP.47 to complete the component mapping details.

Run Commit Pre-check. Proceed to WP.48 [Lot Set Change Pre-check] to run commit pre-check for the lot set change definition.
