What is MyLogistics?

MyLogistics is the client self-service portal to the ViewPoint Logistics suite. This browser-based interface allows the Host 3PL (3PL service provider) to extend the functionality and visibility of HighViews to their clients (Trading Partners).

How is External Access Maintained?

The Host 3PL's SYSADM is responsible for creating a Trading Partner account for each client who will be using their services. Once set up, MyLogistics users will then be able to view the menus and data that are defined for them within their account.

As with internal VL access, MyLogistics access is maintained through the use of operator codes and groups.

• Each client/trading partner will have one administrator who controls all user access to their MyLogistics account.
• The MyLogistics administrator creates the groups, and the operator codes that belong to each group.
• Groups are used to define the level of access (to menu items).
• Each operator is assigned to a group, and can only access the menu items defined for that group.
• Groups must be created before any operator codes can be assigned to them.
• Passwords may be changed by individual users once they log in to MyLogistics using a valid operator code and password.
• The ViewPoint Logistics SYSADM has ultimate control to grant or deny access to any MyLogistics account at any time.

About External Operators and Groups

External users are identified in VL using the XG prefix (for external groups) and the XO prefix (for external operators). For complete details on how operator codes and groups are defined in MyLogistics, refer to the overview in MyLogistics User Access.

Setting Up a Trading Partner Account

The process for enabling MyLogistics service for a client involves creating a Trading Partner account and assigning user access. The SYSADM is responsible for allowing access to specific companies and data for the clients defined as a Trading Partner. Once the account has been set up, the Trading Partner's administrator will have the ability to define how individual users may access their data.

1. Create the Account

Each Trading Partner account must be configured for external access by the Host 3PL SYSADM. This process involves the use of:

RD.03 to define a "cyber name" for each company that clients will be accessing through the MyLogistics portal, especially if they keep stock in more than one location. This allows the Host 3PL to create more meaningful names than the ones defined for "internal use only". Note: This part of the process is only required once per company, most likely during the initial set up of MyLogistics.

RD.09 to create a new Trading Partner code, assign a 2-character "short ID" for each client, and define which companies (cyber names) they will be able to access.

2. Define Initial Operator IDs

Once the necessary client details are provided in RD.09, press the F4 key to begin defining how operators will access the new Trading Partner account. Each new account automatically receives three initial operator codes, each with different security access to MyLogistics. For more information on how to define passphrases and passphrase rules for operator IDs, see the Usage section under RD.09.

3. Provide URL to Client

Once the Trading Partner and Operators have been created, the SYSADM can provide clients with the URL for access MyLogistics.

4. Create More Groups and Operator Codes

The Host 3PL's SYSADM can create more operator IDs with different permission levels if required. This is accomplished by logging into MyLogistics as the SYSADM and selecting the MyLogistics. Also note that the client has the ability to maintain their own user access and security via the MyLogistics Administrator account, using the MyLogistics Security HighView:

This HighView is also available to the Host 3PL SYSADM via the SAS system. Instructions for setting up MyLogistics groups and operator codes are provided in the section MyLogistics User Access.
