FZ.95: FTZ Stock Rotation Group

Business Benefits

In addition to performing automatic stock rotation (i.e. shipping the oldest stock first) the Foreign Trade Zone system may also be defined to select stock in a hierarchical Zone Status seqeunce for each Order type.

Example: An FTZ Foreign Shipment Order

Assume the following Zone Status Hierarchy has been defined and an order quantity of 200 has been placed against the available stock.

Hierarchical Zone Status Sequence:

1. Preferred Foreign (PF)
2. Non-Preferred Foreign (NPF)
3. Zone Restricted (ZR)

Available Lots for required Product:

1756-097 PF 120 1756-106 PF 60 1804-117 NPF 36 1882-560 ZR 48

In the above scenario the system will automatically select (and reserve) all the stock from lots with a "PF" status prior (a quantity of 180) before reserving stock from a lot with an "NPF" status (a quantity of 20).

Usage

Use this job to create an FTZ Stock Rotation Group for a specific FTZ Lot Set.

Note: The first component of an FTZ Stock Rotation Group must be "*ZST*" (Zone Status). However, since a product may have multiple lots with the same Zone Status it is necessary to identify the other lot components(s) that the system will consider to "break the tie"; i.e., select a lot.

Subsequent Actions

After defining the FTZ Stock Rotation Group run the job FZ.94 [FTZ Rotation Zone Status].
