Business Benefits

The Hazardous Materials system satisfies basic shipping and material handling requirements, providing a legal shipping document. Before Hazardous Materials can be processed in the Warehouse, the necessary Hazardous information needs to be set up first. This program provides this maintenance functionality.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see HM - Hazardous Materials.

Usage

Hazardous definitions for each Product can be set up either directly in this program or else accessed via program CR.62 [Client's Inventory Products] when entering Y in Field 19 (Hazardous Goods).

In either case, the system takes you to the same program.

If this program is used directly, Products must already exist in program CR.62 [Client's Inventory Products].

Preconditions

To use the Hazardous Materials (HM) system, the following must be set up:

  • All CR (Client Related Setup) programs necessary to do normal Receiving and Shipping

  • C.A.S. numbers must be loaded from government data file using HM.30 [Import SARA ASCII File].
  • UN and NA numbers must be entered into file HMUN by using HM.21 [UN/NA Numbers]
  • Cross-check files for HM Placards, Labels, and Special Provisions must be entered in programs
