Business Benefits

The setup of Hazardous Materials includes the maintenance of a list of Placard codes. Placard codes are used during the maintenance of United Nations (UN) numbers and follow standard regulatory definitions.

Usage

Placard codes are automatically set up by the system from a default table during the installation process.

They should be reviewed for accuracy and any updates that may be required.

Preconditions

The Placard codes are made available from the government (see HM Setups and Procedures for further information).

The information is provided from the MSDS Sheet and Chart HM172.101 Table.

Subsequent Actions

Placard codes are used in Field 14 of program HM.21 [UN/NA Numbers].
