Business Benefits

Prior to beginning the setup of the Hazardous Materials system, some key overall definitions need to be made.These must be performed in this program.

Usage

This setup program defines in which Company the Hazardous setup files reside.

For example, if the files (Placards, Labels, UN numbers, etc.) are set up in Company T1, this should be defined here. Consequently, when other Companies are set up (eg. T2), they can choose to use these files as well, instead of starting the setup from the beginning. Generally, only one set of files is required, since this data is generic in nature and not Company-specific.

Preconditions

The parameters are made available from the government (see HM Setups and Procedures for further information).

Subsequent Actions

Following the setup in this program, review the remaining HM maintenance programs in the following order:

HM.20 [Manufacturer File], requires input
HM.21 [UN/NA Numbers], requires input
HM.25 [OSHA Only C.A.S. Numbers], Optional
HM.30 [Import SARA ASCII File] Required to be run
HM.22 [Placards],
HM.23 [Labels],
HM.24 [Special Provisions],
HM.26 [MSDS Hazard Classes],
HM.27 [Container Types].

Are all files supplied populated by Maves, but need to be checked for content.
