Lot Balances
Lot balances for products that are currently available in the warehouse.
This query-based action grid will retrieve current lots (for a selected product) showing balances of products within each lot.
Records displayed in this action grid are usually invoked automatically as a hyperlink (drill-down) from a record selected in the Product Balances action grid. However, you can also use the Query console (via the Actions tab) to retrieve data directly from the database. For more information on how to compose a query in an action grid, see Queries.
Using standard Action Grid Functionality, the data may be sorted, filtered, and sub-totaled for various types of analysis. The results may be converted to a chart and/or output to external format (PDF, Excel, XML etc.).
Why Multiple Lot Balance Records?
When no filtering (or views) have been applied to this action grid, each lot balance can consist of up to four different rows/records. Each of these records represents one of following levels of summary/detail:
- Balance quantity across all warehouses and all holds
- Balance quantity across all warehouses and a specific hold
- Balance quantity for a specific warehouse and all holds
- Balance quantity for a specific warehouse and a specific hold
Record types 1 and 3 will always be listed for each lot (since stock is always located in at least one warehouse but holds are optional).
Drill-Downs From Lot Balances
Some of the data elements for Product Balances act as hyperlinks to other action grids that may contain further details about the record selected.
| Product | Invokes the Product Balances action grid which provides details about products (description, quantities, holds, etc.) that are currently in stock. |
| Lot Activity | Invokes the Lot Activity action grid which displays further details on how the lot balances were derived. |
| Units | Invokes the Unit IDs List action grid which provides a list of all the available unit IDs (if stock is organized into units, serial numbers, etc.). |
| Conveyances | Invoke the Conveyance Contents action grid which describes the contents associated with each conveyance ID. |
