Business Benefits
Each Warehouse in your operation must be defined to the system for the storage of Products and subsequent movement. This program allows you to set up Warehouse locations.
Note: For related documentation and workflows, see WP - Warehouse Profile.
Usage
Use this job to enter basic descriptive and operational information about each Warehouse, so that the system will have a valid list of Warehouses and can display their names to Operators who reference them.
The Warehouse record tells the system which Printer is to be used to produce the Warehouse's Bills of Lading, and whether the Warehouse is all or part of a Profit Centre in the Company's General Ledger.
Preconditions
Determine how many Warehouse locations you need to have. Each physical Warehouse should be defined, of course. But you may wish to identify logical areas within a building as well. Or assign more than one code for the same location (ie. for special reporting or accounting purposes).
Before you run this program, you must have completed programs
WP.92 [Invoicing Profiles].
Z0 CC.13 [Earth].
Z0 MC.15 [Country Codes].
Subsequent Actions
Once your Warehouse locations are defined, you may proceed to set up the Products that belong in each.
