Business Benefits

At the time of entering a Receipt or Bill of Lading, it would be easier to identify a Carrier with a brief code rather than the full Carrier name. This program allows you to set up these Carriers codes, together with Carrier contacts, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, and other useful information regarding each Carrier.

Note: For related documentation and workflows, see CR - Client Related.

Usage

Use this job to:

  • maintain a list of Carriers used frequently by the Order desk; e.g., UPS Worldship or Fedex Ship Manager.
  • state whether a Bill of Lading for a Carrier should show Weight in pounds or kilograms
  • add contact carrier information, to be displayed in RE.01 [Appointment Log].

For more information, refer to the Shipping System Interface Implementation Guide (PDF) .

Preconditions

Routing codes must have been set up in program CR.37 [Routing Codes].

The Standard Weight (i,e., Kilograms or Pounds) is defined in Field 11 (Standard Weights) of program WP.99 [System Profile - 1].

Subsequent Actions

Once the Carrier codes have been set up, you may proceed with programs

OE.01 [Enter Orders (Shipping)]

OE.03 [Print Shipping Documents]

RE.01 [Appointment Log]

RE.21 [Receipts]

RE.31 [Receipt Invoices].
