Business Benefits

The setup of Hazardous Materials includes the maintenance of Hazard Class or Division. Hazard Class or Division must conform to standard regulatory definitions.

Usage

Hazard Class and Divisions are automatically loaded into the system during the installation process from a default table.

They should be checked for accuracy and any necessary updates made (MSDS or Table HM172.101).

Preconditions

The Hazard Class codes are made available from the government (see HM Setups and Procedures for further information).

Subsequent Actions

Hazard Class codes are used in Field 7 of program HM.21 [UN/NA Numbers].
