Business Benefits
In managing one or more Warehouses, it is important to monitor periodically the volumes that are being processed in each (ie. Receipts, Shipments, Adjustments). This program summarizes the activities by Client and/or Warehouse and/or all Warehouses, showing each of these activities together with opening and closing balances.
Note: For related documentation and workflows, see MR - Management Reporting.
Usage
Use this job to produce a report showing the current volumes in each Warehouse for any selected date or range of dates.
The beginning balance represents transactions before the beginning date entered. The analysis represents transactions (inclusive) between the beginning date and the ending date.
The closing is as of the ending date entered, also. Any transactions after that date are ignored.
The percentages represent comparisons between the Client selection (or NIL selection), representing the comparison of that information and the Warehouse (or Company total).
The percentage is of the total of the specified Warehouse (or all Warehouses) for each selected category by Client as indicated in line 3 of the page header.
Example:
Opening Units = 821
Total Units for all Warehouses = 9202
Percentage = 8.9 rounded
( 821 / 9202 * 100 = 8.921 )
If the percentages do not add up to 100, it is because of the rounding and the display of only one decimal place.
Breakdown by Zones can be done if Zones are setup in program SL.87 [Zones].
Preconditions
The transactions that are used to produce this report are generated by various programs:
OE.06 [Pick Confirmation],
OE.20 [Confirm or Modify Shipments],
OE.21 [Enter Shipped Orders],
RE.21 [Receipts],
RE.31 [Receipt Invoices], and
OR.20 [Lots - Maintain / Adjust].\
Subsequent Actions
Based on the figures in this report, you may need to initiate some action; e.g., if one Warehouse is experiencing a disproportionate amount of activity, you may wish to address the reasons for the imbalance.
Periodically, you may purge the data using program OR.62 [Analysis Activity - Purge].
